Sometimes, sitting there watching him I would catch a brief glimpse of the man he was destined to be, or rather, the man he had been. Before. It started with his eyes crinkling as he smiled, his slow, sensual yet mischievous smile. That smile could start a fire, and lit the entire room. That smile spoke of total abandonment to hedonistic pleasure, but also of experiencing deep joy. Basking in its glory, I lingered, at once both comfortable and excited, the temperature of the room rising.
